Centre culturel ARCADE/Château de Sainte Colombe en Auxois

Founded in 1986 to save the Château de Sainte-Colombe-en-Auxois, a 17th- and 18th-century castle in a state of ruin, the ARCADE association and its volunteers rose to this first challenge, restoring it to its original colours and making its admirable roof structure visible.
In 2002, after setting up a group gîte in a wing of the château that is still in use today, ARCADE developed a cultural centre to promote contemporary design and crafts.

Every year since then, ARCADE has exhibited well-known and emerging designers, craftspeople and visual artists, focusing on the issues facing our society: Design à la campagne® now marks ARCADE's desire to anchor a specific cultural project in the Auxois region, for example by setting up residency projects for designers and presenting a selection for its shop.
The commitment is an original one: to organise a dynamic of practices, meetings and shared reflection in a given area, as an original place devoted to today's design and creation, away from urban centres.
