Marya
Company: Les Monts du Reuil
The musical work dedicated to Marie Curie, composed by Isabelle Aboulker and written by Hélène Clerc-Murgier, is a reading of the life of Marie Curie in 5 tableaux, examining 5 periods of her life: her childhood in Poland, her arrival in Paris, her discoveries, her torments, and finally the little Curies, the name given to the vehicles equipped with radiology units that she used during the 14-18 war.
It is through Marie's voice that we get to know her: a mysterious and discreet woman of extreme modesty, who reveals herself in subtle ways in letters to her family and friends, she reveals here her attachment to Poland, her passion for research, her love for Pierre Curie and her gratitude to France.
In contrast to the seriousness of the photos that have come down to us, Marya shows herself to be complex, combative and wholehearted. She speaks, sings, and her life unfolds before our eyes, close to her two confidants, timeless witnesses to her existence. This intimate work, in which song mingles with words, shows us the images of a life of genius.
