The curator of the exhibition will share with the public the stages of research, selection and conception of this ambitious project, devoted to an artist who is still too little known to the general public, but whose work fascinates by its richness and modernity.
Jean Dampt, born in Venarey-les-Laumes in 1854, was an exceptional sculptor, decorator and draughtsman. Both a classicist and a visionary, he was in tune with the artistic trends of his time, while developing a highly personal approach to sculpture and the decorative arts.
