Roland GARNIER, born in the Auxois region of the Côte d'Or, had Miss Lemoine as his teacher.
This person was also a qualified drawing and painting teacher, hence the importance of this subject in her curriculum.
At the age of 16, the budding painter benefited from a training course in oil painting at the MJC of Semur-en-Auxois and took part in the life of the club of the Friends of Arts of Montbard.
At the age of 20, he has very enriching contacts with old and confirmed painters: Mr LEMARCHAND from Semur-en-Auxois, Mr BOGUET from Montbard, as well as Mr MAIRE, famous decorator of the liner Normandie, whose works can be seen in the Tokyo museum and other museums in Paris.
